Etika Publikasi
The ethical statement of the scientific publication code is based on LIPI Regulation No. 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications, which upholds three ethical values in publication:
- Neutrality: Free from conflicts of interest in publication processing.
- Fairness: Providing authors the right to claim their work.
- Honesty: Free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism (DF2P) in publication.
Duties and Responsibilities of Journal Processors
- Determine the journal title, scope of study, period, and accreditation if necessary.
- Organize the editorial committee membership.
- Define the relationships between publishers, editors, experts, and other participants in agreements.
- Respect confidentiality for researchers, authors, editors, and contributing experts.
- Apply norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright.
- Study journal policies and communicate them to authors.
- Create ethical guidelines for editors and experts.
- Ensure regular journal publication.
- Guarantee the availability of funding sources for the continuity of journal publication.
- Manage networking and marketing.
- Prepare licenses and other legal matters.
Duties and Responsibilities of Editors
- Meet the needs of readers and authors.
- Continuously strive to improve publication quality.
- Ensure the quality assurance process for published papers.
- Promote freedom of ideas objectively.
- Maintain the integrity of the authors' academic records.
- Submit corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies when necessary.
- Be responsible for the style and format of writing, while the content and statements in the writing are the authors' responsibility.
- Actively seek opinions and suggestions from writers, readers, experts, and the editorial committee to improve publication quality.
- Promote assessment of the journal for each finding.
- Support initiatives to reduce research and publication errors by requiring authors to submit Ethics Clearance forms approved by the Ethics Clearance Commission.
- Participate in educating researchers about publication ethics.
- Study the effects of publication policies on writers and experts, and make adjustments to enhance responsibility and minimize errors.
- Maintain an open-minded attitude toward new or differing ideas, even if they oppose personal views.
- Avoid imposing personal views or those of third parties that may lead to subjective decisions.
- Motivate authors to make constructive improvements for proper publications.
Duties and Responsibilities of Experts
- Carry out duties assigned by the editorial committee to review papers and provide results to editors for publication decisions.
- Refrain from reviewing papers with which they have direct or indirect involvement.
- Maintain the privacy of authors by not disclosing corrections, suggestions, and recommendations.
- Encourage authors to improve their papers.
- Review papers based on established scientific standards (data collection methods, author authorization, conclusions, etc.) within the set timeframe.
Duties and Responsibilities of Authors
- Be collectively responsible for their profession and the content of their articles, including methods, analysis, calculations/measurements, and details.
- Directly or indirectly cite sources (including funding).
- Clearly state the limitations of their writing.
- Respond to corrections from experts professionally and promptly.
- Inform the editor if they wish to withdraw their submission.
- Provide a statement confirming that the paper is original, has not been published elsewhere in any language, and is not under consideration by another publisher.
