Etika Publikasi

The ethical statement of the scientific publication code is based on LIPI Regulation No. 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications, which upholds three ethical values in publication:

  1. Neutrality: Free from conflicts of interest in publication processing.
  2. Fairness: Providing authors the right to claim their work.
  3. Honesty: Free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism (DF2P) in publication.

Duties and Responsibilities of Journal Processors

  1. Determine the journal title, scope of study, period, and accreditation if necessary.
  2. Organize the editorial committee membership.
  3. Define the relationships between publishers, editors, experts, and other participants in agreements.
  4. Respect confidentiality for researchers, authors, editors, and contributing experts.
  5. Apply norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright.
  6. Study journal policies and communicate them to authors.
  7. Create ethical guidelines for editors and experts.
  8. Ensure regular journal publication.
  9. Guarantee the availability of funding sources for the continuity of journal publication.
  10. Manage networking and marketing.
  11. Prepare licenses and other legal matters.

Duties and Responsibilities of Editors

  1. Meet the needs of readers and authors.
  2. Continuously strive to improve publication quality.
  3. Ensure the quality assurance process for published papers.
  4. Promote freedom of ideas objectively.
  5. Maintain the integrity of the authors' academic records.
  6. Submit corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies when necessary.
  7. Be responsible for the style and format of writing, while the content and statements in the writing are the authors' responsibility.
  8. Actively seek opinions and suggestions from writers, readers, experts, and the editorial committee to improve publication quality.
  9. Promote assessment of the journal for each finding.
  10. Support initiatives to reduce research and publication errors by requiring authors to submit Ethics Clearance forms approved by the Ethics Clearance Commission.
  11. Participate in educating researchers about publication ethics.
  12. Study the effects of publication policies on writers and experts, and make adjustments to enhance responsibility and minimize errors.
  13. Maintain an open-minded attitude toward new or differing ideas, even if they oppose personal views.
  14. Avoid imposing personal views or those of third parties that may lead to subjective decisions.
  15. Motivate authors to make constructive improvements for proper publications.

Duties and Responsibilities of Experts

  1. Carry out duties assigned by the editorial committee to review papers and provide results to editors for publication decisions.
  2. Refrain from reviewing papers with which they have direct or indirect involvement.
  3. Maintain the privacy of authors by not disclosing corrections, suggestions, and recommendations.
  4. Encourage authors to improve their papers.
  5. Review papers based on established scientific standards (data collection methods, author authorization, conclusions, etc.) within the set timeframe.

Duties and Responsibilities of Authors

  1. Be collectively responsible for their profession and the content of their articles, including methods, analysis, calculations/measurements, and details.
  2. Directly or indirectly cite sources (including funding).
  3. Clearly state the limitations of their writing.
  4. Respond to corrections from experts professionally and promptly.
  5. Inform the editor if they wish to withdraw their submission.
  6. Provide a statement confirming that the paper is original, has not been published elsewhere in any language, and is not under consideration by another publisher.
